Cheesy Hash Brown Casserole
I am not a Cracker Barrel fan usually, but one morning, Aaron and I were craving it, so we went and had chicken biscuits and cheese hash brown casserole. I LOVED the casserole, so I went on Top Secret Recipe.com and hunted the recipe down! Thank goodness, he had it and the recipe nails this dish!
Cheesy Hash Brown Casserole
(from Top Secret Recipe)
Ingredients:
1 26oz bag frozen country style hash browns
2 cups shredded Colby cheese
¼ cup minced onion
1 cup milk
½ cup beef broth
2 tablespoons of butter, melted
1 teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
Dash of garlic powder
Directions:
1. Preheat
oven to 425 degrees
2. Combine
the frozen hash browns, cheese and onion in large bowl.
3. Combine
milk, beef broth, half the melted butter, garlic powder, salt and black pepper
in another bowl. Mix until well blended,
then pour mixture over the hash browns and mix well.
4. Heat
remaining butter in a large ovenproof skillet over high heat
5. When
skillet hot, spoon in hash brown mixture.
Cook, stirring occasionally, until hot and all the cheese has melted.
6. Put
the skillet into the oven and bake for 45-60 minutes or until surface of the
hash brown is dark brown. (you can
transfer hash browns to baking dish and bake in oven the same if your skillet
cannot go into oven)
